Dr. Talia Hurwich was the first girl in Stamford, CT to have a Bat Mitzvah at a Women’s Tefillah Group. She currently serves as a davener, gabbait, and layner at Congregation Darkhei Noam in New York, where she previously served as co-chair of the synagogue board and davening coordinator. She also serves as a gabbait at Congregation Ramath Orah’s Women’s Tefillah Group in New York City. Talia holds a PhD in Education and Jewish Studies from NYU and is currently the Director of Research and Evaluation at the Jewish Education Project.
