Naomi L. Baum, Ph.D.
Naomi L. Baum, Ph.D., a psychologist, who consults both in Israel and internationally in the field of trauma and resilience. She created the Building Resilience Intervention (BRI) an evidence based resilience model that has been applied widely in Israel and abroad.
She headed up the Resilience Unit at Metiv- The Israel Center for Psychotrauma, for twelve years, and directed the International Course in Trauma and Resilience in cooperation with the Rothberg School of the Hebrew University. She trained with the Center for Mind Body Medicine (CMBM) from 2004-6 and is a member of their international faculty. In 2015 Naomi developed a multi-year post trauma intervention in collaboration with Tevel B'tzedek and helped to train staff and implement it in Nepal.
She is the author of professional articles on resilience building and trauma as well several books, including: "My Year of Kaddish: Mourning, Memory and Meaning,"published in April, 2020 as well as "Life Unexpected: A Trauma Psychologist Journeys through Breast Cancer," and "Free Yourself from Fear: A Seven Day Plan for Overcoming Fear of (Recurrent) Cancer," all available on Amazon. Her newest book, "ISRESILIENCE: What Israelis Can Teach the World," she co-authored with Michael Dickson, and will be debuting in early Fall. She is also a student and instructor of Xi Gong, a meditative form of movement based on the principles of Chinese medicine. She has been married to the same man for forty five years, is mother of seven, and grandmother of twenty.
