Author of The Prophetess; former founder/director of Canfei Nesharim
Evonne Marzouk has spent her career in pursuit of inspiring others, making a difference, and bringing Jewish wisdom into the world.
In October 2019, her first novel, The Prophetess, was published by Bancroft Press. Since then, she has inspired students, synagogue groups, Rosh Chodesh groups, JOFA members, readers, and writers' groups with the book's empowering themes to find your inner feminine Jewish superhero and "grow into all your gifts." Evonne grew up in Philadelphia and attended the Johns Hopkins University and received a B.A. from the Writing Seminars program, with a minor in Religious Studies.
In 2009, she was selected as one of The New York Jewish Week’s “36 under 36.” Evonne founded and is the former director of Canfei Nesharim (recently merged with GrowTorah), an organization that teaches Jewish wisdom about protecting the environment. She now serves as a board member for GrowTorah and as a steering committee member for Greater Washington Interfaith Power and Light. Evonne has also had a range of communications and international policy roles in her career with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. More information about Evonne is available at
