Synopsis: This book analysis the challenges faced by lesbian women who live in Orthodox contexts. This book presents the challenges that Lesbian women within the Orthodox face. It is composed of some 16 essays, an introduction and foreword by Judith Plaskow (Professor at of contemporary religious thought at Manhattan College, author of Standing Again at Sinai). It includes a glossary, a list of resources and information on the various contributors who touch on all aspects of the issue. While most of the essays are personal coming-out stories, one is a scholarly review of Torah sources and Jewish legal literature on lesbianism. Contributors include musician and writer Temim Fruchter, Professor of Literature Joy Ladin (formerly, Jay) at Stern College, writer Leah Lax, nurse Tamar Prager, and the pseudonymous Ex-Yeshiva Girl.
