Rochel Berman is the author of the highly acclaimed book, Dignity Beyond Death, winner of a 2005 Koret International Jewish Book Award. It was also a National Jewish Book Council Awards finalist and named as a 2005 selection by the Association of Jewish Libraries. In 2004, she narrated a Public Broadcasting System segment on Chevra Kadisha that aired on Religion & Ethics Newsweekly. Mrs. Berman was Director of Community Affairs for the Hebrew home for the Aged at Riverdale, Director of Public Affairs for the United Synagogue of America, and Executive Director of the American and International Societies for Yad Vashem. Mrs. Berman has written and lectured extensively, with articles and essays appearing in The New York Times, Hadassah Magazine, Voluntary Action Leadership, The Gerontologist, and Religious Education.
